The charming bed and breakfast, Le Cerisier is located in the village of Saint Geniès de Fontédit in the Herault region of Languedoc. The village is only 10 miles north of Béziers with easy access to Narbonne, Montpellier, Carcassonne, and Perpignan along the A9.

We are centrally located close to :

  • Some of the most excellent beaches France has to offer within 20 miles drive

  • The beautiful Canal du Midi less than 15 miles away

  • The breathtaking  River Orb, only 5 miles from us, with numerous activities including canoing, swimming, walking and fishing

  • Some of the most picturesque cycling, on road, canal tow path, mountain track or the route of the Tour de France

  • The mountains of the Haut-Languedoc Parc Naturel, 15 miles away, with fantastic scenery, rock climbing, hiking, gorges, lakes,  woodland and pretty, unspoiled villages

  • The cities of Béziers, Narbonne, Montpellier, Carcassonne, Perpignan and coastal towns of Gruissan, Cap d’Agde, Sete and la Grande-Motte to name but a few, all within an easy drive

The beautiful valley of the River Orb is 5 miles to the west where you can swim, walk, fish or canoe, and visit picturesque villages such as Roquebrun and Vieussan.

Location

The Mediterranean is less than 30 minutes away where there are numerous excellent beaches and resorts. There are lagoons, miles of unspoiled beaches, water sports and sea fishing all within a short drive.

The Canal du Midi, which connects the Atlantic and Mediterranean, runs through Bézier. It can be easily reached at many points between Carcassonne and Sete where it reaches the Med. Cycling, walking and boat hire can all be made part of your stay.

A breathtaking 20 mile drive to the north and you are into the beautiful and unspoiled Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc and the foothills, lakes and forests of the Black Mountains. The villages here are incredibly pretty. St. Guilhem le Desert is one of Languedoc’s top tourist spots with its charmingly restored cobbled streets and ancient abbey. The areas offers thousands of marked walks plenty of rock-climbing sites listed in guides available from le Cerisier.

Hiring a car is recommended in order to access all the area has to offer. Car hire is easily arranged at any of the local airports or cities.
